What Brings People to Spiritual Coaching
Most people who reach out to me aren’t in crisis. They’re just tired of moving through life on autopilot. Something in them has gone quiet, or maybe too loud, and they can’t tell the difference between what they actually believe and what they’ve just been repeating for years out of habit.
Spiritual coaching gives that feeling somewhere to go. It’s not about fixing a problem. It’s about slowing down long enough to ask what actually matters to you, and then sitting with the answer instead of rushing past it.
I work with people in Gladstone and across the Portland metro who want a spiritual coach willing to sit in that uncertainty with them rather than hand them a five-step plan. Some come with a specific question. Others just know something feels off and can’t name it yet. Both are fine starting points.
When the Noise Gets Too Loud to Hear Yourself
Spiritual growth coaching can help when life feels unclear or disconnected. It gives you space to understand your thoughts, reconnect with your values, and find direction.
- Feeling disconnected from yourself
- Questioning your current path
- Losing touch with your values
- Feeling unsure about your purpose
- Struggling with major life changes
- Feeling emotionally or spiritually stuck
- Wanting more meaning in daily life
- Finding it hard to quiet your thoughts
- Feeling affected by others' expectations
- Wanting to understand yourself better
- Searching for greater inner peace
- Feeling ready for a new direction
How I Approach These Conversations
An autism evaluation uses evidence-based measures and typically includes:
I don’t come to spiritual coaching sessions with a script. My background includes years spent listening closely to people carrying things they rarely said out loud, first in the military, later in ordinary life. That listening shaped how I sit with people now.
My own life includes real hardship, ridicule, difficult relationships, seasons where I felt far from any sense of peace. I bring that experience into the room, not as a lesson to teach, but as proof that working through it is possible without pretending the hard parts didn’t happen.
- A slower pace than most coaching models, built around reflection
- Space for doubt and uncertainty, not just answers
- Faith woven in when it's welcome, never forced where it isn't
- Attention to what you actually say, not what I expect to hear
- Sessions available in Gladstone or by video for anyone in Oregon
Personal values shift over time, and that’s not something to fix quickly. It’s something worth understanding first.
What My Spiritual Coaching Session Actually Looks Like
Growing Prevalence and the Power of Early Intervention
There’s no worksheet waiting for you and no assignment due before we meet again. A session usually opens with a simple question about where your head has been lately, and from there we follow whatever surfaces. Some weeks that means talking through a decision. Other weeks it means sitting in a longer silence than either of us expected.
Spiritual coaching in Gladstone with me is not therapy and it isn’t religious instruction. I won’t diagnose anything, and I won’t tell you what to believe. What I offer is steady presence and honest reflection, aimed at helping you find your own footing rather than borrowing mine.
